Does anyone know the bracket arrangement for the upcoming Region D Tourney? Thanks!
On one side the Cumberland #2 will play the LPD #2 with the winner facing Twin Valley, the other bracket has the Cumberland #1 facing the BDD #2 with the winner going on to play Gate City.

GC1--is that first round bye for GC assuming they win the district tourney? As far as I've heard in the past, even if a team goes undefeated through the regular season in their district, usually the tourney champion gets the higher seed. That's just what I've heard--just want to know if this bye for GC is set in stone.

It alternates man, sometimes the tourney champ gets the bye, sometimes the regular season champ gets the bye. It looks like this year, the regular season lpd champ gets a bye.
that makes no sense. is the lpd the only district that does this that way? i've never heard of that before.

I believe all the districts do it. I know back in 96 Burton only won the district tourney, they got a bye, beat thomas walker and went to state. In 97, Powell Valley won the district tourney, Pound won the regular season and PV got the bye, beat St Paul and went to state. This year it appears that the regular season winner gets the bye and the tourney winner if not gate city would be the #2.
I've always thought the Regular season LPD Champion got the automatic top LPD seed in the Region. Some years it works out where the LPD #1 get a Region bye and some years it doesn't. This Year the BDD and LPD #1's get the bye with the CD #1 having to play the 1st round. Year before last Gate City had to play 1st round with the CD and BDD #1's getting the bye.

nope, see me post about 96 and 97. The 96 Burton team was 10-9 going into the state tournament. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
Up until a few years ago the LPD Turniment Champ got the top seed in reagionals that changed 4 or 5 years ago (Personaly I liked it better the old way)
